Frequently Asked Question

Is this a religious class or a therapy session?

This is a guided reflective workshop integrating Qur’anic meaning with psychological insight. It is a space to understand your emotions through faith and applied awareness.

Do I need prior Islamic knowledge to attend?

No prior Islamic scholarship or deep study is required.
Qur’anic concepts are presented clearly and accessibly. The focus is lived human experience, not academic theology. If you have sincerity and curiosity, that is enough.

How does phototherapy work?

Phototherapy uses images to access emotion more directly than conversation alone. Visual processing engages large parts of the brain and bypasses overthinking. Images often evoke resonance before language can form. This allows emotions to surface gently and naturally.

How is this different from self-help?

Self-help often focuses on motivation and positive thinking. This workshop works with real emotions as they are.It integrates Qur’anic meaning with psychological application. The goal is alignment and awareness, not performance or productivity.

What if I feel disconnected from faith right now?

Disconnection is a valid human state. We encourage if you are there disconnected as it would be easier for you to do you inner work. You are not required to arrive spiritually strong. This workshop meets you where you are, not where you “should” be. Even distance can become part of the unfolding story.

All healing, psychological or spiritual begins with awakening to what your past has been teaching you. You can stay asleep, waiting for things to fix themselves, or you can own your story and choose differently. At an unconscious level, your experiences and emotions shape a story that keeps bringing you back to the same questions:

Why did this happen to me, what is my learning?

How can build my dream life while things feel to slip out of my hands?

Where is God in all of this?

In younger days there is excitement and all kinds of possibilities but with passing time comes difficult choices, responsibilities, and pressure to perform. Sadness and anger are natural emotions which emerge when life asks more of you than you expected. Learn more

As life unfolds, surprises interrupt certainty. Illness, death, heartbreak, children, money, success, failure each phase tests your faith differently. We seek relief through distraction or retreating inward asking Allah for guidance without knowing what to do next. WIGWYT research reframes these emotional cycles as signposts. Your emotions all along are your intuitive and visceral signals guiding you back to authenticity, connection, and flow when understood through Qur’anic meaning and psychology.

In this workshop, you learn to stop pushing and overthinking, and allow the process to unfold. Through embodied reflection, group presence, and applied guidance, what you have been feeling all along must make sense to you. You reconnect inwardly, open new inner realities, relearn how to relate to yourself and others, and rediscover purpose without force. Life has always been happening for you and your emotions have always been at the center, guiding you closer to your true reality and to Allah.

  • Connect your past therapy and self-work with Qur’anic guidance into one coherent understanding.
  • How to use your feelings and emotions to connect with Allah in everyday decision making
  • Learn how to read What If God Was Your Therapist book and use its research findings to find instant relief and guidance.
  • Awareness of how mental health influences your relationship with Allah.

Trainer Bio

Dr. Saad Khan is a scientist, clinician, and researcher whose work bridges health science, psychology, and Qur’anic wisdom. Trained internationally and shaped by diverse academic and leadership environments, he has spent years exploring how belief, behavior, and biology interact in shaping human wellbeing. His medical background provides a rigorous understanding of the nervous system, emotional regulation, and evidence-based frameworks, while his exposure to global research communities has refined his analytical depth and disciplined inquiry.

Alongside his scientific training, Dr. Saad pursued Islamic leadership and intellectual development programs in the United States, where he examined faith not only as theology but as lived psychology. Through clinical observation and research, he recognized a persistent gap: modern mental health models often exclude belief and purpose, while religious spaces rarely integrate scientific clarity. This realization led him to years of structured research that became the foundation of What If God Was Your Therapist (WIGWYT).

His approach is purpose-driven, integrative, and applied. He does not position emotions as pathology, but as guidance systems that influence decisions, relationships, and character. Those who work with Dr. Saad experience a rare combination of scientific precision and spiritual depth where emotional insight is grounded in research, and faith is explored with intellectual honesty. His work offers clarity, direction, and a coherent framework for those seeking alignment between psychology, belief, and lived experience.
